Pershing 82 Coming This Spring

Move over, Pershing 80—the Pershing 82 megayacht debuts in a Like the Pershing 80, as well as the smaller models from the Italian builder, the Pershing 82 emphasizes speed and open- air enjoyment. Top end is expected to be 45 knots, with a cruise speed of 40 knots, given twin MTU 16V M93s coupled to ZF surface drives. As for that open-air enjoyment, whether zooming along or quietly cruising the coast, you and your guests will have a sunpad and seating/dining spot on the bow to enjoy. The seating area in the cockpit can convert at the touch of a button to a sunpad, too. Furthermore, the Pershing 82 has fixed lounges and sunbeds on the sundeck dedicated to catching rays. That sundeck is one of the most noteworthy features onboard, having debuted on the Pershing 74. On the Pershing 80, the main deck offered the only usable alfresco space. The sundeck is accessible from the cockpit via an interesting twist. When the automatic hatch overhead is opened, a staircase made of carbon fiber and steel drops down. The Ferretti Group’s own AYT (Advanced Yacht Technology) division designed the mechanisms in conjunction with Besenzoni, the famed passerelle manufacturer. When not in use, the staircase stows away, keeping the lines of the Pershing 82 clean. Inside, the standard layout for the Pershing 82 includes four staterooms below decks, including the master. The optional layout is also attractive, with three staterooms and an intimate TV lounge/cinema. Either way, the full-beam (18-foot, or 5.5-meter) master suite benefits from the large hull window visible in the rendering above. Speaking of windows, the ones on the main deck can slide open, a new feature for Pershing’s 80-foot-plus offerings. That should brighten the already light tones of the open-pore-oak furnishings, complemented by wenge soles. Pershing will likely showcase the Pershing 82 at the European boat shows this autumn.
